With about 15,000 listed objects and an estimated nearly 35,000 further works on paper, the architectural collection represents
a substantial part of the overall number of exhibits held by the Albertina. The collection of architectural drawings ranks
among the most important special features of the house, not just for its large quantity, but also for its high quality.
The Architectural Collection comprises about 50,000 plans, sketches and scale models. Drawings by architects with illustrious names, such as Francesco Borromini, Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach, Otto Wagner, Adolf Loos, Clemens Holzmeister and Friedrich Kiesler form the core of this superb collection.
Albertina Collections Online enables you to do research in our collections, find relevant literature, and obtain profound information on photography in Austria. The databases represent a dynamically growing system whose online holdings are continuously expanded and updated.
