In accordance with its historical development, the Graphic Arts Collection is essentially sorted by regional contexts, or so-called “schools”. Within these, classification is arranged chronologically.

Represented in especial abundance are works from the German and Austrian cultural realm, followed by objects that would have to be ascribed to the Italian and Dutch "schools". Likewise, too, the development of French art has been magnificently documented in the collection. The exceedingly voluminous holdings from the 19th, 20th and 21st century have been broken down into regional brackets and have further been arranged within these in alphabetical order.
