General Information for Teachers
For every exhibition, the ALBERTINA Art Education Department designs educational programs for all levels of school students as well as for preschoolers.
These tours by museum educators focus on communicative and active engagement with art. Their content and methods are tailored to each group’s needs. Visual materials and various types of interactive play support children and adolescents as they engage with the exhibited artworks. This dialogue-oriented way of viewing art strengthens their powers of association and also schools their verbal expression skills.
Languages
All programs can be held in German or English. Should you be interested in booking a program in another language, please contact the ALBERTINA MUSEUM’s Art Education Department.
Group Size
Small groups are more conducive to holding students attention and getting them involved. Classes of more than 25 students will be divided into smaller groups, each of which will be supervised by an art mediator. The tours for the groups are held simultaneously. Kindergarten groups should not exceed 16 children. Pre-registration is required.
The minimum number of participants for any of our educational programs is 13 students. Arrangement ahead of time is mandatory.
Informative Tours for Educators (in German)
At each exhibition opening, there are free informational tours in which all the educational programs for kindergartens and schools are presented. Our newsletter for teachers keeps you informed about dates and educational offers. Please contact the art education team for subscribing to this newsletter.
