Treasuries of the Albertina Museum. Architectural drawings | Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine, Paris
Until 16 March 2020
The exhibition “Tresuries of The Albertina Museum. Architectural drawings” is a unique opportunity to discover the masterpieces of one of Europe’s biggest collections – The Albertina Museum, Vienna.
For the first time in France these drawings of the great masters of architectural drawing are assembled. The architectural drawings win their reputation in the 16th and 17th century, at the same time as the figure of the modern architect appears. They rest at the heart of the architect’s work while the digital pen replaces plumes and brushes more often. In a tour through seven centuries of history, from Antonio Pisanello to Zaha Hadid, this exhibition offers the visitor an insight into the secrets of this profession and into the imagination of the greatest architects of their time.
