General information for teachers
For each exhibition, the ALBERTINA Museum's art educators have developed didactic programs for all school levels, including kindergartens.
The museum's educational tours focus on examining art in a communicative, active manner. The contents and methods are geared to the individual requirements of the group. Visual aids and interactive games help children and young people to question and describe the works of art. This conversational manner of examining art stimulates their ability to associate and express themselves verbally.
In the entire Albertina Museum a mask obligation applies: Please wear a brought along mouth nose protection during your visit.
Workshops
At the end of the exhibition tour, the group is invited to take part in an art workshop in the museum's Formatwerk art studio. Let what you have seen and experienced inspire you to produce your own artwork or to work together on a group masterpiece. An important aspect of our educational programme is to let our young visitors give their creativity free rein. Therefore there is no charge for workshops attended after completing a tour.
Languages
All programs are available in Germand and English. If you wish to book a program in another language, please contact the art education department of the ALBERTINA Museum.
Group size
Small groups are more conducive to holding students attention and getting them involved. We divide classes of more than 25 students into two groups. The tours for the groups are held simultaneously. Kindergarten groups should not exceed 16 children. Pre-registration is required.
Teacher tours (in German)
At each exhibition opening, there are free informational tours in which all the educational programs for kindergartens and schools are presented. Our newsletter for teachers keeps you informed about dates and educational offers. Please contact the art education team for subscribing to this newsletter.
